U. Raja Rao, the founder of SEVA is Master in Social Work (MSW). In addition to MSW he is also B.Ed., and Post Graduate in Economics and Sociology. He has deep domain expertise in community development and micro finance. He has been working in the grass roots for the past 30 years building sustainable community institutions like FPOs, SHGs, Farmers Clubs and Water User Associations. His work is recognized by apex organizations like NABARD, MEPMA, Horticulture and Agriculture Department and Department of Municipal and Urban Development of AP.

He was member of advisory committee of Dr.YSRHU and KVK Tadepalli Gudem , AP. He is also member of Advisory Committee , Nehru Yuvak Kendra.
